You have no idea how excited I am to be back writing, blogging and talking with you guys! Seeing as though I have not put up a blog post since July...YES JULY, this post and my apology was long overdue! Every now and then I get into a creative block (which I'm sure all bloggers/creative people get) and I just don't know what content to post. I found myself shopping for everything under the sun and posting hauls on YouTube. But deep inside I knew that I wasn't satisfied. In my mind I was like, "OK Brittney you filmed a haul, did a makeup tutorial, now what?". The biggest eye opener for me was when I started filming a Fall Lookbook but got so overwhelmed with the amount of clothing, colors, and looks I had, that I just stopped filming. I looked around my beauty room, and just saw a bunch of clothes, shoes, and products everywhere. No reasoning to it, no consistency, no nothing. Just a bunch of stuff.
So what did I do? I cleaned...I DEEP CLEANED! I cleaned out my closet, redid my beauty room, and organized my clothing rack. It was at that moment that I realized I still wanted to have Fall Lookbooks, do hauls, etc...but I wanted to do it in a different way. I didn't want to jumble a bunch or orange, reds, browns and greys together in a lookbook. I wanted to break each color down, piece by piece, look by look, and go from there. So with that being said I'm starting THE COLOR BAR. Each month I will select a specific color to showcase, style, and wear. From my favorite sweaters, to jackets, to shoes, to beauty products...everything will be in that one color. Not only does this allow me to stay organized, but it also allows me to get my creative juices flowing again. It allows me to thoroughly dive into my wardrobe and pick out my most coveted and loved pieces in a specific color. It allows me to shop smarter, and really focus on building my capsule wardrobe with key items.
So with all that being said, I'm sure it's easy to guess which color I've chosen for October. Not only is black an essential color to everyone's wardrobe, but it's also a color I feel is often forgotten in Fall. People tend to wear oranges, and burgundy's and browns for Fall, which make sense, since those are the colors of the leaves, but I feel that black is such an essential part of a Fall wardrobe. So many brands introduce their sweaters, cardigans, skirts, etc...in black during this season. And me personally, I LOVE BLACK! Needless to say that is one of my all time favorite colors.
I'll leave it on this note, by saying thank you for being on this journey with me. Whether it's supporting me on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or here, your support never goes unnoticed! I've been able to have SO many opportunities this year that I never thought possible, all because of your love and support. And I owe it to you guys to stay consistent and stay true. I hope you enjoy my first ever post for THE COLOR BAR! You will be seeing alot more content this month, and in coming month's on ALL of my social media platforms, with this new series; and with all that being said I hope by me sharing my love of fashion, beauty, and style that it brings you a little inspiration.
